In most cases, yes — here's how we decide between a single-post fix and a section rebuild.
A leaning fence is almost always a post problem, not a panel problem. Wind load, saturated soil, or a rotted or rusted base lets one post shift, and the panels attached to it follow — even if the panels themselves are still in good shape.
If only one or two posts have failed and the surrounding posts and panels are still solid, we can usually reset or replace just the affected posts and straighten the section back into place. This is the most common outcome when the lean is caught early.
If the lean has been present long enough for the connected panels to warp, or if multiple adjacent posts show the same base damage, a single-post fix won't hold — the repair needs to extend to the full section to be structurally sound.
A quick visual and physical check — pushing gently on the post near the ground, checking for splitting or rust at the soil line, and seeing whether the lean is isolated to one post or spread across several — usually tells us enough to give an accurate answer before we even arrive.
